All told, Bamboo Blade is a decent anime for turning your brain off to just enjoy the bright art style and general upbeat mood of a slice of life type anime. However, critically speaking it is not satisfactory.

This is without a doubt the singular weirdest show I have ever forced myself to watch against my best judgements. It was literally just some moderately cute pollow talk for a few minutes and the rest of it was watching her sleep.
Story
The story is relatively straightforward with few real surprises, but it really doesn't need to be complicated. The pacing was a little slow as well, spending most of the time in his childhood and a couple montages that were ran a little long for my tastes. That being said, this does not detract too much from the story, anyway.
